We couldn't be happier with Jim at J&J Masonry. He and his entire team were professional, respectful and diligent in their work. Our home of St. Louis, over 120 years old, needed fresh mortar on the top 3 feet that ran the length of the house on both sides. We are located in the city in a dense block, so our house has small alleys between neighboring houses. We received a quick quote that was lower than any other competitor, but we felt confident moving forward due to the rave reviews, its insured and guaranteed status, and recommendations from family and friends. We couldn't be happier that we went with Jim. They got to work earlier than expected and finished the first side of the house without a hitch, using as little scaffolding as possible. The other side was trickier, with the house next door angled just enough to prevent its smaller scaffolding from being able to fit into the taller alley. Without changing the quote, his team quickly brought in another specialist to come up with a solution that would reduce his workers on a rigged system between the two houses. They managed to do this, meet the requirements of neighboring landlords and do an excellent job on our brick house. At all times, Jim would maintain consistent, COVID-compliant, friendly and professional communication at the door and on the phone. These people are true professionals and we will certainly be using them for ANY masonry job we need in the future.

This is the best company you will ever hire. They are professional, hard working and very kind. I thought the workers were so amazing that I bought them lunch. They go above and beyond for the customer. Let them surprise you, hire them now.

We needed some pretty extensive repairs to extend the life of the steps. I was glad Jim listened when I explained that durability is more important to us than cosmetic appearance. And when I explained that we needed more substantial repairs after the initial visit, he sent a team over the next day. This second visit did not appear on our bill. So yes, we would definitely hire them again.

Jim and his team were fantastic. The outside work was done quickly and once the scaffolding was taken down and cleaned you would never know it was there. Fireplace looks great and is much safer than before. They also replaced some mismatched bricks that a previous owner had placed in the fireplace. What we thought would be a simple job was made more complicated by the poor job done by the previous owner, but J&J was able to get the repair done quickly, and looking back on it today, you'd never know there was a problem. We are incredibly pleased with the work they did and recommend them for any future work.

J & J Masonry repaired our entire 2 story home and we would definitely hire them again. We received several offers prior to the project, and J&J was not only one of the lowest offers, but also among the most professional companies we spoke with. They provided me with a written offer/contract (some other companies just texted me or told me a price) and were quick to respond to any questions I had. After grinding the mortar, Jim messaged me with some color options set up on our brick so we could pick exactly the color we wanted. Everyone on the team was super friendly and knowledgeable and we were really happy with the end result.

J&J removed a vinyl window that was located in the shower in a bathroom with a beautiful glass block window. They did a great job with the setup, I couldn't be happier.

The workers did an exceptional job at a very reasonable price, and Jim Ulrich and Jim Moore were great to work with. They took the time to discuss and explain the job and were very professional. When an area of ​​brick came up that wasn't in the original budget, they easily quoted a very reasonable price and got on with it.

While J&J Masonry already has a ton of positive reviews, I feel the need to post one as well because they are SO good. These are the guys you want to hire! They are honest, trustworthy and hardworking. They did exactly what they said they would do, exactly when they said they would; and they did a quality job. They paid great attention to detail and took great pride in their work. They built 9 6ft brick pillars with caps for a fence project I was doing. They did a great job and it was a pleasure to work with them. I highly recommend J&J Masonry. This is the company you hope to find when reading these reviews!

We moved into a house last year with a brick fireplace that desperately needed a top. The owner gave me a breakdown of what was needed (and what wasn't needed) to fix the problem permanently. His team came out a few weeks later, removed the old cover and replaced it in just a few hours. Everyone was very kind and attentive and the work is top notch. I would recommend it to anyone in a heart beat.

The whole process was very easy and Jim at J&J was very responsive. He told us it was four weeks away from reaching us and he was right with that estimate. He also estimated that the work would take between three and four days, and they were completed in two. They kept everything clean and the crew was very friendly, even when one of our neighbors was in a bad mood with them about the dust. (We did let them know they would be working here, but who cares?) Their price was well below the other offers (for the same scope of work) we've received and the house looks great. They did the entire front of our house and as needed the sides and back of the house. In fact, it looks so good that all the other neighbors are on their feet and admiring it. All in all a great experience and I have already recommended them to my aunt.

They did a fantastic job! I am very satisfied with the services I received from them. Our project, to say the least, was very challenging. Our building was built in 1914 and needed brickwork repairs in numerous areas and we also added something to the building and they blended it in really well. I could not be happier! We were so pleased with the services we received that we hired them to come back and install stone in front of an outdoor bar we built. It turned out beautiful!

We had to fix our chimney because the bricks were falling down due to the original builder's poor mortar. J&J Masonry came up with the most affordable offering. But it wasn't the price that made it a great experience. It was the friendly, professional and collaborative team of men who got the job done...on time, on budget! They know what they are doing. We manage over 125 properties in South St. Louis and we've tried more than a few companies to get masonry work done. J&J came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The cost was in line with expectations and the quality was perfect. Showed up as arranged and finished on time. They cleaned everything they touched. These are my go to guys.
