Richard Gere is a practicing Buddhist and a former student of the Dalai Lama. He has been married three times, including his first marriage to supermodel Cindy Crawford. They were married from 1991 to 1995.
An Officer and a Gentleman is a 1982 film starring Richard Gere as a US Navy flight school candidate who meets and falls for a local girl, played by Debra Winger. Despite the love shown on screen between the characters played by Gere and Winger, it is well known that the two leads did not get along at all during filming. At one point, Winger publicly referred to Gere as a "brick wall."

Located south of Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton National Park (NP) is a must-see when visiting. The park is named after the highest peak in the magnificent Teton Range, known as the Grand Tetons. The origins of the name "Teton" are not entirely clear, although one story says that it was named by French trappers, as the word "Tetons" is a French slang term meaning "breasts".
